I got on the scale at Publix a couple of days ago. 237. Not the worst number I’ve ever seen (that would be 249), but definitely a long way from where I want to be.
Obviously, I have tried and failed. Many times. I still joke sometimes that I haven’t lost the baby fat yet – but my baby is about to turn 14. It’s about time it went, don’t you think? 14 years of hauling around this extra weight has worn on my body and aged it. I’m only 50, but there are days when I feel much older.
My plan? I have had success logging my food on SparkPeople.com – the last time I did it consistently, I lost 20 lbs. I’ve gained a little back, but I’m going to be faithful about doing the logging. It makes me more mindful of what I’m eating – which is my main problem. I don’t seem to have an off switch. That thing that tells you when you’re full? MIA. Knowing that I have to write this stuff down tends to curb how much goes in so that’s my MAIN plan of action.
Once I’ve recovered from this latest illness, I’ll begin taking walks and trying to build up my stamina. My brother gifted me with a bowflex machine before Thanksgiving and I want to put that to use too.
Let 2013 be a year of change – for the better – for my health!
